lyrics by Jehu P. Cayaon, Sr., music by Engr. Sergio S. Tapalla
I
Dili ko malipatan kultura pang Cagay-an
(I can’t forget the culture of Cagay-an)
na may anen pag-ugyon kiten na Kagayanen
(that we Kagayanen have cooperation.)
II
Pugya sa may saugay ta lunday man o blangay
(In-the-past when there was the first-launching-into-the-water of an outrigger-canoe or a brigantine-sailing-boat)
maski ilakted balay, dali ta gatabangay.
(or even a house that would be moved, (we Kagayanen) were quick to help-one-another.)
Refrain:
Dayad gid inta lagen kiten na Kagayanen.
(It should be that good (customs) is what (people) see in us Kagayanen.)
Daw makita pag-ugyon, lipay Dyos an ki kiten.
(If (we) are seen cooperating-with-one-another, God will be happy with us.)
III
Sadya man naan uma tak galuy-on a duma.
(It’s a happy thing being in the field because (we) help-one-another-with-the-clearing-of-our-fields.)
Gakali ta kamuti patabangan palot ti.
(Those who have-harvested cassava are-helped with the peeling-of-them.)
IV
Naan ta panimalay ula gid man kabellay
(In a family no one person bears the load)
tak maski ta pag-asod gatabangay mag-utod.
(because even in the pounding-of-rice siblings help-one-another.)
Repeat Refrain & Coda:
Lipay Dyos an ki kiten. Lipay Dyos an ki kiten.
(God will be happy with us. God will be happy with us)
