lyrics by Jehu P. Cayaon, Sr., music by Engr. Sergio S. Tapalla
I
Daw ula ki saddanan, megbeng ki ta baybay an.
(If we have no viand, we go-down to the seashore.)
Gatagad daw gabantay daw mabot mga lunday.
(We wait and we watch for when the outrigger-canoes will arrive.)
II
Sabor gid sidda an kamang ta tamparaan,
(The fish is really great-tasting which is gotten by spear,)
kawilan daw pukutan, ta kyagkag o mat-awan.
(hook-&-line, and gill-net, flying-fish-net or
at-night-on-tidal-flats-with-a-bright-lantern.)
Refrain:
Grasya ta Kagayanen dagat ta na manggaranen.
(The blessing of the Kagayanen is our sea which has-a-wealth-of-resources.)
Atag ta ni ta Dyos ki kiten. Ate gid na palanggaen.
(This is a gift of God to us. It’s ours to truly cherish-&-care-for.)
III
Naan ko di makita sikad lab-as na sidda.
(Here I see very fresh fish.)
Unti a nang katilaw tak dagat ta an tin-aw.
(Only here can I taste such because our sea is clear-&-clean.)
IV
Gani, dili ta abusuon ate i na panublien.
(Therefore, let’s not abuse our inheritance.)
Dagat ate na ambligan para ula nelselan.
(The sea is ours to protect so there will be no regrets.)
(Repeat Refrain 2x)
